I’ve been writing for many years for mainstream newspapers and magazines, like The New York Times, The New Republic, The Atlantic and The Forward, among others, as well as some really cool food magazines, like Gastronomica and Meatpaper. I launched a website a few years back called Pork Memoirs to publish other people's stories about the their relationship with pigs. Back in 2008, I even moved onto a quasi-legal industrial pig farm in the South of Israel to better understand the country's controversial pork industry and the history and politics of such a culinary prohibition. While artificially inseminating a sow, I realized that this was probably the farthest I'd go for a story. I helped edit and compile a beautiful memoir. And most recently I published The Gefilte Manifesto, a narrative cookbook I co-authored with Liz Alpern.
